The social security system - Central Provident FontThe social security system in Singapore is called Central Provident Font (CPF.) In Denmark, the citizens are provided a safety net, thanks to the taxes they pay to the government - who use it pay the public hospitals, schools, libraries etc. In Singapore the social system functions like savings. A Singaporean creates 2-3 accounts. They transfer ⅕ of their income every month to the CPF. One account pays for insurances, for purchasing an estate, education and any investment that the citizen would like to make. The second account is for pension, while the third pays for medical insurances. The aim of their social security system is that every elder citizen, will have provided himself with enough money to pay for pension, housing and healthcare. Medical services and health Singapore is a country who’s known for having an incredibly high quality of medical services. There is a high amount of dentists and doctors in the country. There are public hospitals in Singapore, but the private hospitals are also a very popular choice. In Singapore, the health of the citizens is a very important thing. Therefore they have several sports centers and facilities, to improve the medical condition of the citizens. Because of the high quality, the competences doctors and the reasonable price, a huge group of medical tourists comes to Singapore every year to get medical service. Working conditions Singapore has a very low unemployment rate, and their working condition are of very high quality compared to many other countries. The female employees in Singapore is entitled to a twelve week maternity leave after giving birth. |
